Appendix 1. Size Error Analysis

Let's look at the "Meter Error Analysis" function (Main Menu - Rhythm - Meter Error Analysis or the equivalent context menu option), using a short poem as an example. Let's say you created a new file in the program and copied the text from the clipboard. The rhythm of this poem is determined statistically, as evidenced by the appearance and color scheme of the prose line added to the end of the text:

It is also better to make the lines containing information about the title of the poem and its author into prose – using the "Stress Wizard" ( or Ctrl-Shift-W) or manually – by double-clicking on the line characteristics panel and reformatting ( or Ctrl-Shift-F). Sometimes you have to refine the rhythm by removing deviations from the canonical rhythm (in this case, anapest) by double-clicking the corresponding cells (highlighted in red) in the prose line. In this case, the "stress wizard" handled it perfectly:

The size error analysis feature only works after manually fixing the rhythm of a given fragment (if the ideal anapest rhythm were statistically determined, the size error analysis would work without any fuss – just by clicking the button ).

Note: In most cases, manual rhythm marking can be avoided by using the "Quick Rhythm Analysis" function (Ctrl-Shift-R), which sets the meter error analysis flag, records the rhythm statistically, and updates the formatting of the current fragment (). However, in complex cases, manual correction is required. However, there is now also a "Stress Wizard" ().

As a result, syllable rectangles with a brick-colored or yellow-colored background appear in the rhythm indicator window, which are indicated by "?" or "¿" signs on the line characteristics panel – rhythm errors or inaccuracies. However, this is not a death sentence for the poems pronounced by the electronic prosecutor, but merely material for further analysis.

As we can see, dropping monosyllabic words from the ideal anapest pattern doesn't significantly affect the rhythm. Whether you recite it with a different stress ("Val`entine's") is up to you.
