Files Available for DownloadTo install the program, simply unzip the archive to any directory where the user has write access. The program starts by running the RitmInMe.exe file. If you want to add information about the program's presence to the Windows registry for some reason, that option is also available.
About SecurityMany antivirus programs warn the user that downloading any unknown file is unsafe. Naturally, as a developer, I guarantee that the files I offer are virus-free. You can trust your antivirus and not download my program. You can trust me, download it, and run it, trusting in the protection of your antivirus software. But you can protect yourself a little further: after downloading and unzipping the archive, don't run the EXE file, but first submit it to an online scanner, such as . In a couple of minutes, it will give you a diagnostic: have I screwed up, accidentally infected my own machine, or am I sending out viruses along with my program? Moreover, this check will be performed against the databases of several dozen antivirus programs. Please ignore the warning about the 3MB file size limit. Larger files are currently being checked, and I'll find a new service eventually. |

The "Rhythm in Me" Program
Alas, as much as I'd like to make the project at least self-sustaining, this idiotic war has dashed all my plans. But there's still a glimmer of hope... So now the program operates as a year-round bonus, updated every day, practically Freeware. Whether licensing will ever be implemented or the project will simply die free, I can't say.
Potential Difficulties with Downloading and Updating
The life of a simple programmer is hard and unsightly... Especially if that programmer is a wild one. For their domesticated colleagues, company owners buy certificates and antivirus software, though they're only moderately vigilant. But if a program isn't signed with a certificate of authorship, they'll attack it with all their might (consuming all the CPU resources in the process). And how many companies write antivirus software and other checkers...
But this is only the first line of defense. I update the RitmInMe program from time to time... And when receiving update files, I experience annoying slowdowns. For those who take everything seriously, I recommend adding *.rtm files (or the \ritminme\ABC directory) to your antivirus exclusions. These are dictionary files, and sifting through 15MB of data in the archive plus 60MB after unzipping is tedious for the antivirus. There's no need to add the entire \ritminme directory to the exclusions—I'm not immune to accidental infections; even large companies make such mistakes.
Although, the easiest way is to take a more philosophical approach. I don't update the program often—what's five minutes every few months or years? If you can't update the program in standard mode, but want a new version, download the archive and replace the ritminme.exe file, as well as the *.rtm file, manually.
Problem with a Working Program
Symptoms: the program worked (or was updated), and then stopped working. Or, something isn't displaying correctly.
Treatment: Option 1. After loading the program, go to Main Menu - View - Settings and perform a button General - Reset. After this, exit the program normally and reopen it. It should improve.
Option 2. Before opening the program, delete the \RitmInMe\ABC\RitmInMe.ini file, then repeat Option 1.
Option 3. Delete the program directory (after copying your files, if you store them there) and redownload the program.
It's a good idea to keep a copy of the RitmInMe.ini file with your settings outside the ABC directory, and restore the configuration from this copy if necessary. Request: If someone could email me that file \RitmInMe\ABC\RitmInMe.ini in its broken incarnation...
Glitches (which I hope to fix)
1) Symptoms: After loading the text of a poem, a "Range check error" message popped up.
Treatment: After clicking "OK," click on any word in the text and press
the button
- redraw the screen, or - refresh the formatting of the current fragment
(in the main menu, these correspond to the items
"Rhythm - Refresh formatting - Redraw the screen" and
"Rhythm - Refresh formatting - Refresh the formatting of the current fragment").
2) Symptoms: After scrolling a large text with the mouse wheel, a desynchronization occurred between the text window and its outline.
Treatment: click on any word in the text.
